Anambra State has been recognized as a leader in Nigeria’s digital transformation, winning the Broadband Infrastructure Excellence Award 2025.
The award was presented at the launch event of the National Broadband Alliance for Nigeria (NBAN) in Lagos on February 4, 2025.
According to organizers, Anambra State was chosen for its remarkable progress in deploying broadband infrastructure, enhancing digital access, and fostering innovation under the leadership of Governor Charles Soludo.
The award reaffirms Anambra’s commitment to expanding connectivity, which aligns with Nigeria’s broader broadband goals, including achieving 70% penetration by 2025 and improving data speeds for urban and rural areas.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Aminu Maina, Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), emphasized the need for increased broadband investment and infrastructure expansion to bridge connectivity gaps and unlock digital opportunities.
Anambra’s win is seen as a testament to the state’s dedication to fostering a more connected and innovative future.
