The Mayor of Dunukofia, Barr. Chijioke C. Ozumba, has met with traders at the popular Ifitedunu Plaza, vowing to flush out hoodlums terrorizing the community.

The meeting, which took place on Saturday, February 8, 2025, aimed to address concerns about hard drug sales and other criminal activities in the area.

Ozumba explained the newly launched Anambra State Homeland Security Law, which targets hard drugs and other criminal activities, warning traders that if anyone is caught selling or using hard drugs within or around the plaza, the State Government will demolish the plaza, seize the land, and prosecute the offenders.

The Mayor also addressed the issue of food vendors encroaching on the road in front of the plaza, instructing them to vacate the area immediately to allow for free movement.

Ozumba shared his phone number, as well as those of the community President General, the Dunukofia DPO, and the Security team, urging traders to report any illegal activities they witness, citing the Governor’s security initiative, “If You See Something, Say Something.”

The meeting was attended by various stakeholders, including the Ifitedunu President General, Professor Ufoaroh Stephen Uchenna, and the Secretary to Dunukofia Local Government Council, Dr. Malobi Uchenna.
