Anambra State’s healthcare sector has received a boost with the delivery of a new general hospital for the Okpoko community in Ogbaru Local Government Area. Governor Charles Soludo fulfilled his promise to the community by providing a hospital with facilities to improve healthcare services.
The hospital will offer antenatal services for pregnant women. This development comes after Governor Soludo was recognized for his efforts in primary healthcare delivery in the Southeast and Nigeria.
The Nigeria Governors’ Forum, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Aliko Dangote Foundation, the Federal Ministry of Health, and the United Nations Children and Education Fund presented awards to Governor Soludo. Anambra received $1,200,000 in awards.
Governor Soludo has employed 1,000 health workers, including doctors, nurses, and medical laboratory technicians. He has also introduced telemedicine to enhance healthcare services.
