The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Nigerian Police Force have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their partnership in addressing security challenges in Anambra State.
Commandant Maku Olatunde, the Anambra State Commandant of NSCDC, emphasized the need for improved inter-agency collaboration during a courtesy visit by CP Ikioye Orutugu, the new Anambra State Commissioner of Police, at the State Command Headquarters in Awka.
Commandant Maku assured the new CP of his readiness to work closely with him to promote peace and security in the state. He also expressed confidence in CP Orutugu’s ability to further cement the existing cordial relationship between the two agencies.
CP Orutugu, in his remarks, stressed the importance of synergy between security agencies and the need to eliminate inter-agency rivalry. He emphasized that the NSCDC is crucial to their success, particularly in information sharing and collaboration.
The courtesy visit ended with discussions on how both agencies can effectively address security challenges and ensure the safety and well-being of Anambra residents.
