The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, has charged the South East Development Commission (SEDC) to fast-track the regional railway project connecting the five South East states. The governor made the call during the Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) meeting on February 24, 2025, where he bid farewell to Mr. Mark Okoye, the newly appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SEDC.
Soludo emphasized the significant economic importance of the railway project, which aligns with his administration’s goal of transforming Anambra State into a hub of economic growth and development. The governor expressed confidence in Okoye’s ability to drive development in the region, citing his wealth of experience in investment banking and public service.
Okoye’s appointment has been hailed as a testament to the Federal Government’s commitment to fostering development in the South East region. Governor Soludo applauded President Tinubu for Okoye’s choice and extended his good wishes to the Chairman and Members of the governing board of the Commission.
With several ongoing and completed projects in the state, Governor Soludo has demonstrated his commitment to turning Anambra into a land of infinite opportunities for its people and investors. The fast-tracking of the regional railway project is expected to further boost economic growth and development in the region.
