The Director of Chike Okoli Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies (COCES) at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Ifeoma Enweani-Nwokelo, has commended Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo for his impactful and youth-driven leadership, describing his administration as a model of purposeful governance.
In a statement issued in Awka while reviewing the governor’s three-year achievements, Prof. Enweani-Nwokelo particularly praised the One Youth, Two Skills initiative, noting that it has empowered thousands of young people across Anambra State with meaningful employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.
“Youths are the powerhouse of every nation,” she stated, emphasizing that engaging young people in productive ventures has far-reaching benefits for the future of society.
The COCES Director also applauded other key policy directions of the Soludo administration, including aggressive road rehabilitation projects, community sanitization to restore values, the clampdown on noise pollution, promotion of the indigenous Akwaete fabric, and the implementation of free education in public schools.
Highlighting her vision for the Chike Okoli Centre, Prof. Enweani-Nwokelo outlined ongoing efforts to expand youth skill acquisition and empowerment programs. She emphasized the importance of promoting small-scale enterprises among youths as a way to curb crime and foster self-reliance.
She also revealed plans to establish a recycling plant to enhance environmental cleanliness on campus, and announced an upcoming exhibition to showcase products made within the directorate.
In a tribute to the late Professor Humphrey Nwosu, former Chairman of the National Electoral Commission, Enweani-Nwokelo called for his immortalization, suggesting that an institution of national repute be named in his honor.
She concluded by reaffirming her belief in the promise of the Igbo nation, stating that with its abundance of talented individuals, the region will continue to thrive and achieve greatness despite challenges.
