Mayor of Nnewi South Local Government Area, Hon. Van George Ezeogidi (Ijele Utuh), has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to promoting peace and security across the communities under his leadership, stressing that sustainable development is only possible in a safe and stable environment.
Speaking during a routine security patrol across the council area, Hon. Ezeogidi highlighted the importance of maintaining peace to fast-track growth and community advancement. “In a peaceful environment, individuals and organizations can thrive, leading to rapid development,” he stated. “Security of lives and property is not negotiable.”
The Mayor reiterated his resolve to collaborate with security agencies, community leaders, and other stakeholders to strengthen safety structures within the local government. He emphasized that security is a shared responsibility and called on residents to remain vigilant and actively participate in safeguarding their communities.
While engaging with residents during the patrol, Ezeogidi urged them to report suspicious activities promptly, noting that community involvement is crucial to ensuring a secure environment.
As part of efforts to bolster local security, the Nnewi South LG boss announced plans to hold a series of community forums to address security concerns and deepen cooperation between the government and the people. According to him, these engagements will foster trust, encourage dialogue, and build a stronger sense of communal responsibility.
Ezeogidi expressed optimism about the future of Nnewi South, stating that the local government is on course to achieve meaningful development through continued peace and unity. “Only in an atmosphere of peace can our people and our communities realize their full potential,” he said.
He assured residents of his continued commitment to building a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Nnewi South for all.
