As the world marks World Health Day, the wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has called on Nigerians to take greater responsibility for their health, stressing that good health is the most valuable asset anyone can possess.
In a message shared to commemorate the global health awareness day, Dr. Soludo emphasized the importance of healthy living and conscious lifestyle choices. She noted that many health challenges could be prevented through discipline and intentional habits.
“The greatest wealth one can ever possess in life is good health. Without sound health, we are living on a borrowed line,” she stated. “The choices you make for yourself today are what determine the sustainability of your health.”
Dr. Soludo, a known advocate of wellness and nutrition, urged individuals to pay close attention to their diets and daily habits, noting that being unaware of what goes into the body is a major contributor to health deterioration.
“There’s a reason we always emphasize that if you don’t know what goes into your body, your body won’t. Staying completely conscious of your health is a very intentional process. It demands discipline and simple responsibilities,” she said.
She encouraged citizens to use the opportunity presented by World Health Day to reassess their habits, reconsider their food choices, and make decisions that would positively impact their long-term health.
“Today could still be early enough to reassess our choices and how they affect the overall functionality of our body. Remember, health is just one. Once lost, it’s lost forever. Guard it jealously,” Dr. Soludo concluded.
World Health Day is observed annually on April 7 to draw attention to global health issues and promote healthier living worldwide.
