eIn a renewed effort to strengthen peace and restore lasting harmony in Nimo community, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has convened a peace dialogue with key stakeholders and leaders of thought from the community.The meeting, held at St. Vincent Primary School, Ifite-Ani, Nimo, brought together the local government chairman, the traditional ruler, town union executives, youth representatives, women leaders, and security partners. The dialogue was aimed at addressing lingering communal disputes, fostering mutual understanding, and reinforcing the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order through peaceful engagement.During the interactive session, CP Orutugu reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to promoting dialogue as a veritable tool for conflict resolution. He emphasized that peace and security can only thrive when communities collaborate actively with the Police and other security agencies.The Commissioner also urged community leaders to embrace reconciliation, avoid acts capable of breaching public peace, and continue to support the Police in sustaining the relative tranquility being enjoyed across the state.A statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, reaffirmed the Commissioner’s commitment to proactive engagement with communities as part of the Command’s peace-building efforts across the state.In their separate remarks, the stakeholders, including the local government chairman, the traditional ruler, town union executives, traditional council members, youth associations, and other community leaders, commended the Police Commissioner for the proactive initiative, describing it as a timely and commendable intervention that would strengthen peace, unity, and development in the community.The dialogue concluded on a hopeful note as all stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to continuous engagement and collective efforts toward lasting peace in Nimo and the wider Njikoka Local Government Area.
