The Association of Non-Indigenes in Aguata has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for what it described as his exceptional hospitality and inclusive governance style, pledging their total support for his re-election bid on November 8.The group made the declaration during a summit held at the Aguata Council Field on October 18, where they lauded the governor’s development strides and commitment to fairness for both indigenes and non-indigenes in Anambra State. In a welcome address, the association’s chairman, Mr. Okechukwu Adim, described Soludo as “Enyi Ndi Obia” (friend of strangers), noting that his policies and programmes accommodate everyone regardless of origin. He cited examples including the recruitment of over 8,000 teachers on merit, free education from nursery to secondary school, and free maternal healthcare services available to all residents.“Governor Soludo’s administration has improved infrastructure, boosted security, and opened up business opportunities for everyone in Anambra, including non-indigenes. One good turn deserves another, and we will repay his good deeds with our votes for APGA on November 8,” Adim said. The group also urged unemployed members to report to its leadership for assistance while warning idle individuals to desist from unlawful activities, stressing that Soludo’s security architecture would not spare lawbreakers.Additionally, the association advised members practising traditional spiritual vocations such as marine attendance and witchcraft to return to their native lands, explaining that “the spirits of one’s homeland understand them better.”In his remarks, Chairman of Aguata Local Government Area, Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike, appreciated the association for their endorsement and urged them to uphold peace, obey the laws of the state, and pay their taxes and levies.“If you live within the orbit of the law, you will always enjoy our hospitality. Leave your welfare to Governor Soludo; he cares for all residents,” Ofobuike said.APGA Chairman in Aguata, Mr. Vitalis Okoroako, encouraged the group to discard the non-indigene mindset and embrace unity, while former Aguata LGA Chairman, Chief Titus Anigbogu, urged them to ensure their votes count on election day.Member representing Aguata II Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr. Tony Mobuike, also commended the association for their organisation and solidarity, assuring them that Anambra remains “the light of the nation.”He called on members to remain law-abiding and continue contributing positively to the progress of the state.
