The Chairman of the Post Primary Schools Service Commission in Anambra State, Prof Nkechi Ikediugwu, has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for repositioning the education sector and declared support for his second term bid.Prof Ikediugwu made the remarks at Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, during the 65th Independence Anniversary celebration. She said the governor has demonstrated that education remains the foundation of a modern society, citing the recruitment of 8,115 teachers, the establishment of smart schools across the three senatorial zones, and the introduction of a free education policy in government-owned schools.She also highlighted the laurels won by Anambra students at international, national, and regional levels, describing them as evidence of the governor’s reforms. According to her, Governor Soludo’s achievements have attracted several honours, including chieftaincy titles and awards from traditional rulers and international bodies.Prof Ikediugwu stated that the governor deserves re-election, urging political opponents to wait until the completion of his second term before contesting for the governorship seat. She further used the occasion to reflect on Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, calling on leaders to pursue governance with a human face for the good of citizens.
