The President-General of the Building Materials International Market, Ogidi, High Chief Jude Nwankwo (Ochendo Umuawulu), has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for ensuring a peaceful and credible governorship election in Anambra State.Nwankwo, who spoke to journalists in Awka, described last Saturday’s poll, which returned Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo for a second term, as a true reflection of the people’s will. He noted that Anambra voters overwhelmingly supported the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) because of their satisfaction with Soludo’s performance in his first term.According to him, the election process was calm and orderly, with INEC officials displaying professionalism and security agencies maintaining an atmosphere of peace throughout the exercise.“In Umuawulu and across Awka South Local Government Area, APGA won in all polling booths. Anambra remains APGA land, and the people have reaffirmed their confidence in Governor Soludo’s leadership,” Nwankwo said.He urged INEC to continue improving its processes to sustain the credibility of future elections while calling on voters to arrive early at polling stations to avoid delays. He also advised politicians to play by the rules and put the interest of the state above personal ambitions. The community leader further urged Governor Soludo to reciprocate the people’s massive support by redoubling his efforts in governance, noting that expectations are high for his second term.
