The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to ensure a free, fair, and credible governorship election in Anambra State scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2025.Egbetokun gave the assurance during his visit to the Anambra State Police Command Headquarters in Amawbia, where he cautioned police officers against any form of misconduct before, during, and after the election.Represented by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ben Okolo, the IGP reminded officers that they would be held personally accountable for their actions throughout the electoral process. He commended the command for its efforts in combating insecurity in the state and urged them to maintain professionalism and discipline.The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 13, Abayomi Oladikpo, also assured that adequate arrangements had been made to guarantee a peaceful and hitch-free poll across all local government areas.In his remarks, the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, expressed appreciation to the IGP for his support and participation in the signing of the Peace Accord by governorship candidates. He reiterated that the command was fully prepared to provide security and ensure a credible election process across the state.
