The Permanent Secretary of the Anambra State Ministry of Environment, Mr Tochukwu Obodogha, has received the prestigious Century Media International Special Recognition Award for his dedication to effective and proactive leadership aimed at promoting a cleaner and healthier environment.Presenting the award in Awka, the organisers commended Mr Obodogha’s outstanding service and commitment to environmental sustainability in the state.In his remarks, Mr Obodogha expressed appreciation for the honour and pledged to redouble his efforts towards maintaining excellence in public service. He also urged civil and public servants in the state to justify their salaries by demonstrating greater dedication and professionalism in their respective duties.The Permanent Secretary further appealed to workers and residents of Anambra to turn out en masse on Saturday to exercise their civic rights and ensure their votes count during the governorship election.Mr Obodogha also lauded Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his numerous achievements, including the provision of free education from nursery to Senior Secondary School Three in public schools, free antenatal care and surgeries for expectant mothers in state hospitals, the recruitment of over 8,000 teachers, the empowerment of youths through the One Youth, Two Skills initiative, and the rehabilitation of key roads in his community, Nnewi.
