The Mayor of Anaocha Local Government Area, Hon. Rome Ibekwe, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to attracting massive investments, executing development projects, and implementing human-centred programmes across all communities in the council area to sustain the vision of a greater Anaocha.Hon. Ibekwe stated this in his New Year goodwill message to the people of Anaocha as they ushered in 2026.He commended the collective effort and team spirit demonstrated by stakeholders and residents throughout 2025, noting that their cooperation played a significant role in repositioning the local government for progress. According to him, notable achievements during the year included the commissioning of functional solar-powered water projects across communities, the establishment of skill acquisition centres in Neni and Agulu to equip youths with practical skills, as well as visible government interventions in the health, education and sports sectors.The mayor said the initiatives were designed to improve the quality of life of residents, nurture talents and prepare young people to become future champions.He assured that his administration would continue to deliver the dividends of transparent, inclusive and accountable governance, stressing that no community or individual would be left behind as development efforts progress.“Across Anaocha LGA, we have demonstrated that governance can truly serve everyone,” he said.Hon. Ibekwe also acknowledged the infrastructural strides recorded under the leadership of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, particularly ongoing road projects, including the dualisation of major routes within and outside the local government area linking Ekwulobia, Nanka and Agulu, which he said would strengthen economic and social connections across the zone.He expressed optimism that 2026 would bring more projects, opportunities and positive transformation for residents of Anaocha.The mayor thanked the people for their continued support, cooperation and confidence in the administration’s efforts to realise the shared dream of a developed and prosperous Anaocha.
