As part of its efforts to tackle kidnapping, the Anambra Government has demolished several dens in Nnewi, sending a strong message to kidnappers that their activities will no longer be tolerated.
The demolition exercise, carried out under the Operation Udo Ga-Achi initiative, also destroyed shrines, mini-cells, and other structures used by the kidnappers.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo, represented by his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, warned kidnappers to leave the state or face the consequences.
“The Anambra State Government will not tolerate any form of kidnapping or criminal activity in the state,” Dr. Ibezim said. “We urge all kidnappers to leave the state immediately or face the full wrath of the law.”
The governor advised residents to report suspicious activities to the authorities, warning that failure to do so could lead to arrest and punishment.
“We urge all residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities,” Dr. Ibezim said. “We will not hesitate to take action against anyone found to be involved in kidnapping or other criminal activities.”
The demolition exercise was witnessed by top government officials, including the Majority Leader of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme.
