The Traditional Ruler of Ikem Ivite in Anambra East Local Government Area, HRM Engr Simon Obidike, Eze-Ezu II, has praised Governor Charles Soludo for his efforts in tackling insecurity in Anambra State. The monarch’s commendation comes after the introduction of the Homeland Security Law, which has led to a significant reduction in kidnapping and violent crimes in the state.
According to Igwe Obidike, the Homeland Security Law is the best way to address the security challenges facing the state. He noted that since the law was signed, the usual daily occurrences of kidnapping and armed robbery have decreased significantly. The monarch attributed this success to the Operation Udo Ga-Achi and Agunechemba initiatives, which have taken a proactive approach to addressing insecurity.
Igwe Obidike assured that Ikem Ivite will support the governor in ensuring that the security initiative achieves its target objective. He also commended the newly elected Ikem Ivite town union executive for their efforts in fighting insecurity in the town.
The monarch further emphasized that the people of Ikem Ivite and Nando are not known for evil charms and that every Nando person understands the consequences of committing heinous crimes. He attributed this to the deity “Ajana,” which prevents Nando people from committing such crimes.
Governor Soludo has also addressed the security situation in Anambra State, outlining a comprehensive approach involving both kinetic and non-kinetic strategies to confront insecurity.
The Homeland Security Law has been hailed as a game-changer in Anambra State, and its implementation has brought a sense of relief to the people. With the continued support of traditional rulers like Igwe Obidike, Governor Soludo’s administration is poised to make Anambra State a safer and more secure place for all.
