The Anambra State Police Command has briefed the public on recent breakthroughs in crime fighting, highlighting notable successes in investigating and prosecuting high-profile cases.
Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam, disclosed that the Command has arrested nine suspects in connection with the abduction and murder of Hon Justice Azuka, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly.
The suspects, who were apprehended in a joint operation with Anambra State Vigilante Operatives, have been linked to other crimes in the state. The Police also recovered two pump-action guns and other incriminating evidence from the suspects.
In addition to the arrests, the Command has neutralized over 100 notorious criminals and destroyed several criminal camps in Ufuma, Eziowelle, Achalla, Ogbaru, and other areas.
Commissioner Itam assured the public that the Police are committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents in Anambra State. He also appreciated the cooperation and support of the public, which has been instrumental in the Command’s successes.
