The newly inaugurated executive council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council, has pledged to strengthen the union and promote the welfare of its members.

Chairman Dr. Odogwu Emeka Odogwu made this promise during the council’s first congress for the year, held at the Godwin Ezemo International Press Centre in Awka.

Dr. Odogwu emphasized the importance of collaboration and inclusive governance, urging members to actively participate in NUJ activities and support the new executive in moving the council forward.

Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Youth Empowerment Programme, Dr. Nelson Omenugha, also spoke at the event, highlighting the crucial role of the media in ensuring good governance and encouraging journalists to promote balanced reportage.

The new executive’s commitment to strengthening the union and promoting the welfare of its members is expected to have a positive impact on the journalism profession in Anambra State.
