The Anambra State Government has started a monitoring process to evaluate the effectiveness of its seedlings distribution program, which aims to promote agriculture and economic growth.
According to the State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Forster Ihejiofor, the government is tracking the distribution and impact of oil palm, coconut, and economic tree seedlings provided between 2022 and 2024. The move is in preparation for the 2025 seedlings distribution.
The commissioner, through the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Ifeyinwa Uzoka, called on stakeholders, including local leaders, government officials, and community groups, to provide updates on the seedlings they received. The ministry has provided a template for uniform reporting and has set a submission deadline of February 12, 2025.
The government’s effort to track the distribution and impact of the seedlings is part of its broader initiative to promote agriculture and economic development in the state.
