Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has launched a manhunt for the killers of Hon. Justice Azuka, a lawmaker representing Onitsha North 1 Constituency, vowing to bring them to justice.
Soludo confirmed that six people involved in Azuka’s kidnap and killing have been arrested, while a native doctor who prepares charms for the criminals is being traced.
The governor also announced that 15 criminals were shot dead and 13 captured alive in a Thursday night operation in Owerre-Ezukala, Orumba South Local Government Area.
Soludo attributed the success to his administration’s security operation, codenamed Operation Udo Ga Achi, which is spearheaded by the state’s new security agency, Agunechemba.
Senator Victor Umeh, representing Anambra Central in the National Assembly, condemned Azuka’s murder and called on citizens to join in fighting insecurity, noting that security is a collective responsibility.
Umeh commiserated with Azuka’s family, constituents, and the Onitsha people, while commending Governor Soludo’s efforts in the ongoing war against criminals.
