The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has expelled a 300-level student, Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious, from the Department of History and International Studies.
The expulsion is a result of Chimamaka’s involvement in a physical altercation with a lecturer, Dr. Chukwudi Michael Okoye, in the Department of Theatre Arts and Film Studies.
According to a statement released by the university’s Ag. Head of Information and Public Relations, Njelita Louis O., the Student Disciplinary Committee found Chimamaka guilty of gross misconduct and violating the university’s Student Disciplinary Regulations, specifically Regulation 4.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph I. Ikechebelu, approved the immediate expulsion, requiring Chimamaka to vacate the university premises and return all university property.
The university emphasized its commitment to upholding discipline, ensuring a safe learning environment, and fostering scholars and leaders with character and excellence.
