Mater Christi Secondary School, Awada, Onitsha, has emerged the winner of the 2024 Foreign Languages’ Singing competition, organized by Stelated Bilateral Educational Consultancy (SBEC) and supported by Zenith Bank PLC.

The school took home a cash prize of N700,000, while Saint Kizito Secondary School, Umudioka, and Rosa Mystica High School, Agulu, came second and third, respectively, winning N400,000 and N300,000.

The grand finale of the competition, held at the ASUU Secretariat, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, featured presentations from various schools, a singing competition, a short quiz competition, and a drama presentation in French.

In his opening remarks, Venerable Paul Ojukwu emphasized the importance of embracing the love of Christ, which enables individuals to show love to their neighbors rather than doing evil.

The organizer, Mr. Stephen Igweze, announced plans to organize another competition this year, with higher prizes to be won. A representative of Zenith Bank, Mr. Nduka Nwanokwai, emphasized the need for students to be educated on basic financial management.

Chimamanda Chukwuemeka from Handmaid Girls Secondary School, Amansea, won the foreign language quiz competition.
