The Government of Anambra State has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Chief Maja Umeh, a former Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism, describing his passing as a great loss to the state.
In an official statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, the government paid tribute to Chief Umeh’s impactful service, noting that his contributions to the growth and development of Anambra remain enduring.
“Chief Maja Umeh’s legacy stands as a testament to the power of dedicated public service and meaningful community engagement,” Dr. Mefor stated.
As Commissioner, Umeh was known for his tireless efforts in promoting Anambra’s rich cultural heritage and tourism assets. His work in public information management, the statement noted, helped to enhance the state’s image and reputation both locally and beyond.
The government extended its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and associates of the late Chief, praying for strength and comfort during this period of mourning.
