The traditional ruler of Okpuno-Uruagu, Afam Iloka, has inaugurated an Obi-in-Council to strengthen traditional governance and community leadership in the area.The ceremony, held on May 2, featured the induction of council members and attracted community leaders, political figures, and business stakeholders.Speaking at the event, the monarch said the council would serve as an advisory body to support decision-making and promote fairness, equity, and collective responsibility in community affairs.
Among those inducted was Cletus Ibeto, who was conferred with the chieftaincy title Ogbata Onua of Okpuno-Uruagu. Other appointees include Chief Mba Mba Iloka, who will oversee palace administration, and Ikenga Oduke, appointed as palace secretary.The event also had in attendance the Mayor of Nnewi North, Echezona Anazodo, alongside other dignitaries and community stakeholders.The inauguration is expected to enhance traditional leadership structures and strengthen conflict resolution and community development efforts in Okpuno-Uruagu.
