The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Anambra State branch, has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for appointing medical professionals into key positions in the state’s health sector.The association gave the commendation in a statement signed by its Chairman, Okam Princeston, and Secretary, Obiaeli Ifeanyi, noting that the appointments would enhance service delivery.Among those appointed are Ezeaka Augustine Uwaeme as Executive Secretary of the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, Obianuju Chinelo Okoye as Executive Secretary of the Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency, and Hillary Nkem Okeke as Executive Director of the Anambra State AIDS Control Agency
.The NMA described the appointments as a demonstration of commitment to merit, professionalism, and improved healthcare governance in the state.The association particularly highlighted the appointment of a medical doctor to head the Primary Health Care Development Agency, describing it as a step that aligns with global best practices in health system leadership.According to the statement, the appointees’ experience and competence are expected to improve the quality, accessibility, and efficiency of healthcare delivery across the state.The association also reaffirmed its readiness to collaborate with the state government in strengthening a sustainable and equitable healthcare system in Anambra.
